CHEMUNG SPEEDROME
RESEVES
THE RIGHT TO ADJUST ANY RULE FOR BETTER
COMPETITION. ALL
DECISIONS
ARE FINAL AND BINDING.
1. BODY:
All cars must be 4-cylinder non-turbo
charged front wheel drive American or
foreign stock passenger cars. No pick-up
trucks, jeeps, or convertibles permitted.
VIN# MUST remain in place. NO additional
cutting away or cutting down of any of the
cars body permitted.
1.1 Front
and rear bumper systems must remain stock.
No additional bracing or tubing behind
bumpers permitted. No plating or bracing of
bumper mounting brackets permitted. Bumper
shocks remain functional.
1.2
Pre-register a number 0-999. Numbers must be
on both doors and roof at least 3” thick
an 18”tall. Numbers must be in a
contrasting color. Additional numbers should
be painted on right front and rear of
vehicle for easy recognition by officials.
Body and paint must be kept in presentable
condition. NO inappropriate print or logos
allowed!
1.3 TOW
HOOKS ARE MANDANTORY!! Chains or cables are
permitted. Front and rear.
1.4 Plastic
trim must be removed from the outside of the
body. All headlights, taillights, marker
lights, grills, mirror, door handles and any
miscellaneous exterior plastic must be
removed.
1.5 All
suspension and steering parts remain stock.
No beefing up or replacing of suspension or
steering parts with heavy-duty parts.
1.6 Cars
must have factory wheels with 12”, 13”,
or 14” steel wheels only. Wheels may
only be maximum 6” wide, steel only.
1.6.1
Tires must be a DOT street steel belted
radial tire of 65 , 70 , or 75 series only ,
MINIMUM 300 TREAD WEAR with the indicator
visible on the outside of the tire . NO
RACING TIRES . Wheels must be stock OEM
production steel wheels NO wider than 6
inches and may be 12 inch to 16 inch in
diameter . ALL 4 WHEELS MUST BE THE SAME
DIAMETER . EXAMPLE : IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE
15 INCH WHEELS , YOU HAVE TO USE 15 INCH
WHEELS ON ALL 4 CORNERS OF THE CAR . TIRES
DO NOT have to be the same size on all 4
corners of the car .
2. INTERIOR:
All combustible materials must be removed.
All carpeting, doors and quarter trim
panels, headliners, and all seats must be
removed. The dash may remain.
2.1
Driver’s seat must be a racing seat with a
5-point racing harness and must be securely
fastened to frame and in good condition.
Must have high back aluminum racing seat.
Dash and
steering column must remain in stock
location for make and model being used. A
quick release steering wheel hub may be
used. Factory ignition lock pin must be
removed from column. Stock hood latch must
be removed and replaced with at least 2 hood
pins. You may install one bar in front of
the radiator with supports not extending
past front of strut tower (may not tie into
four point cage). Trunk lid or Hatch hold
down latch must be removed and replaced with
no less than 2 hood pins to secure them
with.
2.2 A 6
point roll cage with full X’d main
vertical roll hoop MANDATORY – with three
1-1/2” door bars on the driver’s side
and one door bar on the passenger side
(inner drivers door panel may be removed to
allow for clearance of the driver) passenger
side inner door panel may NOT be removed.
Must have center bar in halo. Stock hood
latch must be removed and replaced with at
least 2 hood pins. You may install one bar
in front of the radiator with supports not
extending past front of strut tower (may not
tie into four point cage). A window net is
also MANDATORY.
2.2.1 Cars
must have full solid steel roof. No
spoilers, wings, wind deflectors, etc.
permitted. Bodies must remain stock.
2.2.2 All
doors must be welded shut with a minimum of
two 1/8” x 1” x 6” steel
flats welded along the body side.
2.2.3 All
glass must be removed except for front
windshield, which may be replaced with Lexan.
2.2.4 Must
have firewall between drivers compartment
and trunk area.
2.2.5 Top of
window frames to roof must be welded shut
with minimum of one 1/8” x 1” x
10” steel flat stock.
2.2.6 NO
MIRRORS or reflecting devices are allowed
that would enable the driver to see the cars
behind them are allowed.
2.3 RUB
RAILS
2.3.1 Rub
rails allowed between wheel base only.
2.3.2 Rub
rails may not extend out more than tires.
2.3.3 1 3/4
inch round tube maximum, no lower than
center of hub and no higher than top of the
tire.
2.3.4 Rub
rails must be securely attached to the main
roll cage.
NOTE: The
roll bar requirements are minimum
requirements; any added bars for SAFETY
PURPOSES will be ALLOWED (No bars for
performance reasons will be allowed.)
3. GENERAL
SAFETY: All radiators, gas tanks, and
batteries must remain in stock location. NO
additional cooling systems permitted.
3.1
Radiators must have overflow catch can.
WATER ONLY NO ANTIFREEZE ALLOWED.
3.2 Must
have 4 wheel brakes in good working order.
3.3 Stock
hood latch must be removed and replaced with
at least 2 hood pins. You may install one
bar in front of the radiator with supports
not extending past front of strut tower (may
not tie into four point cage).
4. DRIVER
AND SAFETY:
4.1 Fire
extinguisher must be mounted within reach of
the driver and track crew.
4.2 All
drivers must have and maintain a one-way
radio/scanner for direct Communication with
the CHEMUNG SPEEDROME tower. This has helped
with positioning and safety.
4.3 Approved
helmet, fire suit, gloves, safety harness
and window net are required.
5. ENGINE
5.1 Engine
size and specifications must be stock for
year, make and model and utilize stock OEM
engine mounts. No turbo chargers or super
chargers allowed. No DOHC V-TEC engines
allowed. If running a V-TEC engine, it must
be the 1.8 L SOHC version only.
5.2
Absolutely NO aftermarket or high
performance parts allowed. ( camshafts ,
injectors , cam pulleys , throttle bodies ,
crankshafts , connecting rods , pistons ,
headers , etc., etc., etc. )
5.3 No
machining, grinding, porting, gasket
matching, etc. of any engine component.
Including carburetor and throttle body.
5.4 Engine
and engine compartments must be STOCK.
5.5 OEM fuel
injection or carburetor for year, make and
model.
5.6 Engine
computers must be stock for year, make and
model. No chips or reprogramming allowed.
5.7 No
carburetor spacers or adapter plates
permitted.
5.8 Maximum
compression of 175 PSI on any cylinder.
5.9 Cars
must run stock air box assembly. Stock
replacement K & N air filter allowed.
6. FUEL
SYSTEM
6.1 Fuel
cells are mandatory if factory gas tank is
mounted behind rear wheels. A rear hoop is
required to protect the fuel cell if the
cell is located in the trunk area.
6.2 8-gallon
maximum fuel cell permitted. Cell must be
mounted on top of trunk floor, as far
forward as possible and be centered in car.
Cell should be secured with (4) one inch x
1/8 inch steel straps – 2 front to rear,
and 2 left to right – with large washers
or 1/8 inch thick plates on underside and
minimum 3/8 inch bolts.
6.3 Fuel
pump shut off switch MANDATORY. Must be
accessible from both sides of car and be
painted a bright color. Must be clearly
marked FUEL ON-OFF. Fuel pump shut off
switch MUST kill power to fuel pump and
ignition. Switch will be tested periodically
during season. Carbureted engines must have
a fuel shut off valve and be clearly marked.
6.4 Electric
fuel pumps must match OEM specs for fuel
pressure.
6.5 PUMP
FUEL ONLY, NO RACE FUELS, or BLENDED FUELS.
7. DRIVE
TRAIN
7.1 Stock
automatic or standard transmission for year,
make and model.
7.2 Stock
torque converter for automatic with stock
steel flex plate.
7.3 Stock
steel flywheel and clutch assembly for
standard transmission.
7.4 No
machining of any drive train parts.
7.5 One-inch
inspection hole required in bell housing.
7.6 No Posi,
limited slip, spools, or welded
differentials allowed.
8.
EXHAUST SYSTEM
8.1 Stock
exhaust manifold only for year, make, and
model.
8.2 Exhaust
must be in stock location. Noise level not
to exceed 100 Decibels. Factory converter
and muffler may be removed. All cards must
use the CHEMUNG SPEEDROME spec. muffler,
Walker Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler NAPA
Model #17763, 2”inlet and outlet .numbers
must be visible to inspectors.
8.3 Single
exhaust only. Must exit behind driver.
8.4 Maximum
pipe diameter – 2 inches.
9. WEIGHT
9.1 NO lead
ballast can be added to the cars unless
directed by CHEMUNG SPEEDROME.
9.2 Any over
competitive cars will be slowed down by
CHEMUNG SPEEDROME.
9.3
Competition Weight Equalizer: After 2
consecutive feature wins 50 lbs must be
added to the car in a location dictated by
CHEMUNG SPEEDROME. Every consecutive feature
win after you must add another 25 lbs to the
car in a location dictated by CHEMUNG
SPEEDROME.
9.4 Any
competitor that has had weight added to
their cars by CHEMUNG SPEEDROME MUST remove
the weight from their car in the tech area
to be weighed.
EVERY
COMPETITOR MUST MAKE THEMSELVES AWARE OF AND
FAMILIAR WITH THE TECHNICAL RULES IN THIS
CLASS.
EVERY
INDIVIDUAL AGREES TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND
BOUND BY THE CONTENTS OF THE CHEMUNG
SPEEDROME FWD MINI STOCK RULE BOOK.
