Four
Cylinder Stock & 4- Cylinder Youth (Speedrome
Jr.) classes
F. 1.
CHASSIS AND BODY: Open to Four Cylinder
front engine sedan, subcompact or compact
two door cars:
Toyota:
Supra
Ford:
Mustang, Escort, Probe, Thunderbird (trimmed
two inches); Pinto
Chevrolet:
Chevette, Beretta, Cavalier, Camaro, Monte
Carlo, Corsica
Pontiac:
Grand Am, Grand Prix, Sunbird, Sun Fire
Dodge:
Daytona
Plymouth/Chrysler:
Lazer
Mercury:
Lynx, Cougar, Capri.
Only a
complete interchange of body parts is
allowed (All one make and one type) no
half Ford & half Chevrolet bodies.
Cars must have full floor firewalls and
inner fenders. Trunks maybe modified to
allow for fuel cell. NO convertibles, two
seat sport cars, four-wheel drive,
independent suspension or front wheel
drives allowed.
F. 1.
2. APPEARANCE: All cars must be
neatly painted and professionally
lettered. Dark cars are not recommended.
Numbers, (NO LETTERS) from 00 to 99 must
be at least 18 inches high and 3 inches
wide excluding borders and silhouettes.
Numbers must be neatly attached or
painted on both sides of car/truck on
center of doors and on roof, reading
from the passenger side. Two digit
numbers must not overlap. SPEEDROME
OFFICIALS DETERMINE if the numbers are
legible. Car numbers must be registered
with SPEEDROME OFFICIALS. A competitor
may be required to use a different
number in order to avoid duplication or
confusion.
F. 2.
HOODS: NO hood scoops. NO holes in hood.
NO openings.
F. 3.
REAR SPOILERS: All rear spoilers must be
approved by SPEEDROME OFFICIALS.
F. 4.
GLASS/WINDSHEILDS: The body must be
complete and the overall appearance must
remain stock (see F. 1.) After market
noses and tail pieces are allowed. All
glass, except the windshield must be
removed. Glass windshields must have four
3 inch tabs (2 on top, 2 on bottom and 2
inner center braces.)

2. A screen, APPROVED BY SPEEDROME
OFFICIALS, may be used as an alternative
to a windshield, and must have 2 inner
center braces. NO chicken wire or
aluminum screen allowed.
F. 5.
DOORS/FIREWALLS: Doors must be welded or
securely fastened in the front and back.
F. 5.
1. A complete firewall between the
Driver’s compartment, front and rear
(engine area & trunk area) of the
car is required; all holes should be
covered with no less than 20 gauge steel.
F. 6.
BUMPERS: Stock type facial or bumper
(front & rear) are allowed, NO
aluminum bumpers. All exterior tubing must
be round. After market noses and tail
pieces are allowed. Side rails must have
maximum of 1¾” O.D. All tubing must be
looped back into and attached to the frame
or cage, 18 inches from the ground.
Valance bars are allowed for fuel tanks
and radiators only, not more than 1 – ½”
maximum size. Face of front and rear loops
must be at least ½” behind leading edge
of hood and trunk.
F. 6.
1. Only 1 external nerf bar is
allowed, maximum 1 inch, with no sharp
edges. They must be skin tight to the
body and located between front and rear
wheels, parallel to the ground.
F. 7. TOW
HOOKS: Front and rear tow hooks are
MANDATORY.
F. 8.
CHASSIS: Chassis must have a front
loop. A complete 6 point roll cage is
mandatory. Installed in a safe,
professional manner; 1 – ¼” .090 wall
steel tubing (minimum) with 3 door bars on
driver’s side and 2 door bars on
passenger side. THEY MUST BE APPROVED BY
SPEEDROME OFFICIALS. All roll cage bars
with in 18” of Driver’s body;
(extended arms, legs, and head) must be
properly padded with approved roll bar
padding.

2. A front loop is required to protect
driver’s legs and feet. NO sharp pointed
objects in driver’s area.
F. 9.
FUEL SHUTOFF/MASTER SWITCH: A fuel
shutoff must be in reach of the driver’s
right hand. A master switch must be in
reach of the driver on the left hand side
of the steering column on the face of the
dash.
F. 10.
FUEL CELL: A Racing Fuel cell is
MANDATORY. Fuel cell must be mounted in a
safe and professional manner. There must
be a protection loop behind the fuel cell.

10. 1. Fuel cell must be protected;
front, bottom, and both sides with
minimum 18 gauge steel, minimum 12
inches from the ground.

WHEEL BASE: Wheel base 103” MAX.
F. 12.
SUSPENSION: Cars must have a stock
suspension. RACING SPRINGS ALLOWED, CUPS
ALLOWED IN FRONT ONLY, BUT MUST BE WELDED.
STRUTS AND SHOCKS MUST BE STOCK.

3. FORD T-BIRD Chassis allowed, T-Bird
A-Arms, axles and body on mustang chassis
allowed.
F. 13.
WEIGHT: 2600 LBS (Minimum weight with
driver after race.) solid lift head.
F. 14.
ENGINE: Engine must remain stock as
manufactured – 2300 CC Ford or Toyota 22R.
All engines
must have standard production heads and
blocks.

14. 4. CRANKSHAFT: Stock stroke
crankshafts only, NO lightweight, cut
down, or narrowed crankshafts allowed.
NO knife edging, NO drilling to lighten
before balancing, NO polishing of
counter weights.

14. 6. CYLINDER HEAD: O.E.M.
manufactured cylinder heads only. Stock
or Stock replacement valves, 1.830 (Max
Intake) 1.590 (Exhaust Max), springs,
retainers & lock NO acid porting or
polishing, NO hand grinding NO exterior
or interior coating, epoxy or welding.

14. 6. 1. CYLINDER HEAD CLAIMER.
PROTEST PROCEDURE. Before the
feature event starts a DRIVER must
complete a SPEEDROME claimer form
with car number and Driver’s name
that he or she has a protest
against, CASH in the amount of
$350.00, and the understanding that
he or she will be removing the
cylinder head from their race
car/truck for inspection as well.
If,
after tear down, the cylinder head
is found to be illegal 75% of the
protest fee will be returned to the
protesting Driver and 25% of the
protest fee will be paid to the race
track. (Cylinder head will be
confiscated.)

CARBURETOR: Only 1, O.E.M. for engine
used, no modifications allowed. Holley only,
number 4412
F.
15. 1. Carburetor adaptor plate only
1 solid spacer, made of aluminum,
maximum 1inch permitted only 1 solid
spacer made of aluminum or pheonolic
plastic of a maximum height of 1 inch
permitted. Only one .075 (maximum)
gasket per side. NO wedge shaped
mounting surfaces, both top and bottom
surfaces must be parallel. Spacer must
have 2 holes 1.750 (maximum size)
straight bore and match the base of
carburetor. No air flow modifications.
F. 16.
TRANMISSION AND DRIVE LINE: Fly wheel
must be stock steel, NO aluminum, etc.
NOTES: These
parts will be checked and weighed at the
discretion of SPEEDROME OFFICALS.
NEW FOR
2010: There must be a hole 11/2 to
13/4 above the starter over the
flywheel.
Flywheel,
Clutch, and Pressure plate will be weighed
together and must weigh a minimum of .27lbs.
F. 16.
3. The drive shaft should be steel
only, NO ultra-light steel drive shafts
allowed.
F. 17.
BATTERY: Any battery inside driver’s
compartment must be in a Marine-type
container, and a master switch must be
placed on the left hand side of steering
column on the face of the dash.
F. 18.
EXHAUSTS: Proper installation and
maintenance is the responsibility of the
car owner. Mandatory, spec muffler 1
Walker Dyno Max Super Turbo mufflers,
(NAPA Model # 17763 – 2” or Part
#17734 – 2 ½”) Part numbers must be
visible to inspectors.
Exhaust
must exit underneath or behind the car. If
inside the car it must be covered with
tin. NO side exhaust systems allowed.
These
mufflers, properly maintained, will
produce a 95-decibel reading or less,
measured at the flag stand or infield. Any
car with loose exhaust, lost muffler, or
leak, etc. that creates over a 95 decibel
reading during any racing event may be
disqualified and black flagged until the
exhaust problem is corrected to meet the
95 decibel reading. Any driver not abiding
by this rule may result in a fine, loss of
points, and loss of point monies. Track
decibel meter reading will be final. This
rule is made to protect the drivers, crews
and spectators from hearing loss and
preserve the sport of racing now and into
the future. Also any non-racing oval
muffler of equal or less cost of spec
muffler not to exceed 95 decibel will be
allowed.
F. 19.
WHEELS, TIRES, AND BRAKES: Stock
reinforced steel wheels or approved steel
wheels. NO light weight racing wheels
8-inch wheel width maximum.
F. 20.
SAFETY: Drivers must use aluminum high
back racing seat or racing seat with
padded headrest that is securely fastened.
Must have 5-point racing seat belt
harness, no more than 5 years old,
securely fastened with bolts. Neck brace
is mandatory for SPEEDROME JR’s.
