TQ Midgets Visit Chemung Speedrome; Double Points For Weekly Classes
By: John Flock

On Friday June 28th, Chemung Speedrome will welcome the visiting NYPA Midgets tour. TQ Midgets are quick, and the drivers will try to tame the Speedrome’s unique configuration. The Western NY based NYPA Midgets are speedy open wheel cars that are well suited for the Chemung track. Race Director John Veach brings in his experienced team and promises great racing. On their last tour event at Lake Erie Speedway, the club brought over 20 TQ Midgets for the event. Speedway owner John White stated that there will be no increase in regular admission prices. Adults are $12, seniors (65+) $10, kids 6-12 $5, and 5 and under are always free.

The weekly divisions at the NASCAR sanctioned speedway will enjoy double point racing this last Friday night in June. The Sunoco Modifieds, Super Stocks, 4-Cylinder Stocks, Legends, Bandoleros, and the dirt track Crate Sportsman Modifieds will all be in competition. Pit gates open at 4:00 p.m., grandstands open and practice begins at 6:00 p.m. Race time is 7:15 sharp. The Speedrome is located off exit 59 of US 17 (I-88). The race day telephone is (607) 529-9998.
