Jeff Goodwin and Zach Curren Score Big at Chemung by John Flock
.
Rounding out the month of May, Chemung Speedrome featured the Super Stock division in a 50 lap challenge event. Many drivers came in search of the enhanced purse, yet track regular Jeff Goodwin again claimed the checkers. Some visiting teams suffered problems before the feature even started. Lee Sharpsteen appeared to lose an engine in warm ups. Charlie Sharpsteen couldn’t make the call for the feature. In the early laps, Both Joe Snell and Jake Snell fell to mechanical problems. Joining the gang of hard luck, Bob Ripley and Chuck Nichols would never make it to the half way marker. Early leaders Gary Noe and Jacob Duke could only hold back so long before Goodwin would take command. Terry Potrzebowski fought from the back of the field to chase Jeff Goodwin’s McDonalds machine to the checkers. Potrzebowski would Battle with Gary Noe, Joe Lane, and Jason Duke to have his chance at victory. It was not to be, as Jeff Goodwin kept his perfect Chemung 2013 winning streak alive. Jeff led the field by half a lap at the finish. Terry Potrzebowski, Jason Duke, Joe Lane, and Gary Noe earned top five finishes. Full Story
